Welcome to the Catholic Diocese of Eldoret Programme for Children and Youth with Disabilities

Welcome to the Catholic Diocese of Eldoret Programme for Children and Youth with Disabilities, a Christ-centered initiative dedicated to transforming the lives of children and youth with disabilities across Uasin Gishu, Nandi, and Elgeyo Marakwet counties. Guided by our vision of a society where every child is loved and valued, we provide safe hostel accommodations near inclusive schools, ensuring access to education, rehabilitation, empowerment, and spiritual growth. Our services range from rescue and medical support to advocacy, community sensitization, and specialized outreach for children with severe conditions. Through holistic care and partnership with families and communities, we help these young individuals realize their full potential and lead dignified, fulfilling lives.

VISION

Our vision is a society where all children and youth with disabilities are loved, valued, and cared for just like any other child, enabling them to lead fulfilling lives.

 Our Mission

Provide opportunities for children and youth with disabilities to make fulfilling choices, help them realize their full potential, and live holistic lives.

 WHO WE ARE

We are a dedicated ministry under the Catholic Diocese of Eldoret, committed to serving children and youth with disabilities through Christ-centered compassion and action.

Our unique approach ensures easy access to inclusive education by providing hostels located near integrated primary and secondary schools. These hostels offer safe, supportive living spaces where children with disabilities can grow, learn, and thrive.

We currently run six hostels across three pastoral regions within the Diocese of Eldoret:

  • Uasin Gishu
  • Nandi
  • Elgeyo Marakwet

Through this network, we make it possible for children with disabilities, especially those from rural or underprivileged backgrounds, to receive the education, care, and support they need in a nurturing environment.

  • Sensitization: Engaging communities, churches, and institutions through awareness campaigns that challenge stigma and foster acceptance and inclusion.
    • Boarding Facilities – Offering boarding facilities that facilitates access to education and makes it easier for children to attend integrated schools, aligning with the goal of removing barriers to education.
