PACEM INTERRIS
“Pacem interris” is a Latin statement which means ‘’Peace on Earth.” ’The aspect of peace is a desire for every human heart and mind hence this becomes a home for all.
- The idea was conceptualized by Rev Fr. Jonas Kiplimo the current Diocesan youth chaplain for the youth to have a place where they can do workshops, seminars, and trainings on different areas irrespective of their backgrounds.
- The main aim of the retreat centre is to help the youth in the Diocese grow spiritually, emotionally, psychologically, economically and even socially.
- We will be having trainings, workshops and seminars which basically help the youth to be whole round.
- It will be a retreat centre for the Diocese. Youth office currently sustain their activities throughout the year from the local contribution by the young people however this contribution might not take long due to the economy and that is why the idea of a Retreat centre came in so as to generate income for the youth activities and programmes in the Diocese. This centre also will be a rehabilitation centre.
The idea was shared with the late Bishop Korir and he gave his blessings and Bishop Mourice Anthony Crowley did the ground breaking on 18th December 2019. Our current Bishop Rt Rev Dominic Kimengich is in full support of the same.
- The project is located at the beautiful scenery of the Kerio Valley, Biretwo, along Tambach Kabarnet road. It is a cool place, silent and away from the interruptions creating tranquility and stability
